Arthur "Art" Payne was not only an incredible person, but his passing acted as a catalyst to starting this business. When I was called to help him, he was on dialysis and not wanting to go on anymore. We talked and came up with a plan to bring in hospice as I began to prepare his family for his passing. Because of our early-planning and time spent preparing the family, his passing went smoothly. In response, the family told me I should go into business. The night of passing ACP, both Art's initials and the abbreviation of an Adult Care Practitioner, came to me in the middle of the night. In honor of his memory and to help other patients and their families transition smoothly into the afterlife. I embarked on this journey 12 weeks ago and I am now a certified End of life practitioner.
