ATTN: Community Members present at the library during the Active Shooter incident on Wednesday

Be Inspired Mental Health & Wellness will be hosting a support group this Sunday from 2-4 PM at the Jackson County Chamber (conference room) in downtown Seymour. This group is FREE of charge and specifically for community members that were at the library on Wednesday during the traumatic incident that unfolded.

We understand mental health support can be expensive and/or wait times can be long. We don’t want anyone to have to wait to get support and have a mental health check-in following the incident. Please spread the word so members of our community that were present know they have support. It’s important we stick together and continue to support each other.

Whitney Thoele, MS will be leading the support group.

Be Inspired Mental Health & Wellness is organizing a toy/jacket drive for children in the community. I am asking only for names of children in need of jackets (and size) or children that may not get presents/toys this year. As a community we can come together to help those navigating a tough road right now. I am asking for the support of the community to share this post and participate if you feel called to do so.

If you are in need, please send me the child(ren)'s name and age privately in a message as well as a general idea of what they are wanting/needing/interested in. From there, I will make a list and items will be labeled with an assigned number and child initials for drop-off and pick-up at The Pacey Apothecary in downtown Seymour. This list will only be in the possession of myself and the shop to protect identities. Privacy is very important to us and we know it is not always easy to ask for help but remember this is for the children and it is okay to have struggles. No questions asked.

I will be posting ongoing requests and tracking them on my end, keeping in touch with all parties. I will inform the donors of the number to attach to the donation and recipients when items are available for pick-up and what the child's number will be for anonymous identification.

We are not asking donors to buy new items but we do ask a few things to maintain the integrity and intent of this event:
1. Please have good or “like new” condition for these items, this is not intended to be a purge. Please be mindful of the children that will be opening these gifts on Christmas morning.
2. If it is in good condition but requires batteries, please replace batteries and test it works before dropping off.
3. There may be items posted that are not attached to a specific child that can be selected by anyone at the Apothecary, at any time. All items will be free of charge.

As some of you may know already Southern Indiana Mental Health Clinic will be dissolving partnership between owners. Since this page started as Be Inspired Mental Health & Wellness LLC with great success before merging to SIMHC, it will return to Be Inspired. You are welcome to share or reach out about services, you are welcome to reach out to the other owner about her services. My main priority is the community and their needs being met. I look forward to continuing to serve you under my previous company name.
