This Thursday, I had the privilege of speaking at an event where we came together to share our stories, our perspectives, and our hearts, with a common goal: helping those who help others.
We met with local law enforcement and emergency responders to discuss how to better care for individuals living with substance use disorders and trauma. It was powerful to see professionals from so many backgrounds united by compassion and a desire to make a difference.
We talked about how Centerstone is set on delivering a person-centered approach and the importance of delivering trauma-informed care, meeting people where they are, understanding their story, and responding with empathy instead of judgment.
Every time I get the opportunity to help bridge the gap and reduce stigma between first responders and those battling addiction or trauma, I’m reminded that real change begins with understanding.
Together, we can build communities of healing, one conversation at a time.
