Choosing essential oils can be simple when you let the plants lead. Instead of memorizing rules or chasing trends, I look at where the oil comes from — what part of the plant and how it grows.

➡️ Sun-grown fruits lift and invigorate

➡️ Fresh green leaves brighten & sharpen the senses

➡️ Tree bark/roots ground, anchor nervous system

When you choose oils this way, it becomes intuitive — not overwhelming.

You don’t need a shelf full of oils. Start with one that supports how you want to feel — and use it consistently.

This "plant-first" way of thinking is the foundation of One Thousand Winds.

Choosing essential oils doesn’t have to be complicated.

I start by identifying where I need support. Then, as I’m considering an essential oil, I look to its source. I think about the plant itself to understand why it works.

Fruits that grow in the sun— uplift & brighten.
Fresh herbaceous leaves— enliven & focus.
Wood and roots— ground & steady us.

Start with one that speaks to you. Use it consistently.

This is the simple thinking behind One Thousand Winds.

People often ask me, “How do I get started using essential oils?” I created One Thousand Winds because I believe in a routine that’s easy & intuitive.

When I’m selecting an oil, I begin by noticing what I need in my body —in my life — at that time. Grounding, clarity, renewal…. whatever it might be, I choose the blend that best supports that intention.

Used consistently without fuss, essential oils quickly become part of a daily rhythm. A ritual. Rather than something to overthink. 🤍
