Prairie Crossing is nestled in the peaceful countryside of DeKalb County near the beautiful Shabbona State Park and Shabbona Lake. Each resident has their own apartment with all of the safety features this facility has to offer. There is no reason to worry about the safety of loved ones here. We provide each resident with the compassion and respect we would give our own family members. We provide you with the privacy of having your own apartment, which is designed especially for senior living. You can welcome visitors or spend quiet time relaxing. Today we had our Christmas party!!! We had a blast with Santa, mrs. Clause, the grinch, and eachother!! From so many goodies including the reindeer bags put together by Hinckley Big Rock high school and middle school ag classes! Thank you to everyone that made it out to celebrate with us, we had a blast!

Day 10 of our 12 days of Christmas! PJ day!!! We were all super comfy today while we watched a great Christmas movie! Guess what movie we watched, hint: spaghetti with syrup!

Day 8 AND 9 of our 12 days of Christmas! Day 8 was crazy hair day and day 9 was Christmas sweater day! Today we had a drop off of gifts from everyone who collected a ticket from the Hinckley Jack and Jinas BP. We would like to thank EVERYONE who contributed and took the time to get something for our residents & our sister facility prairie crossing living and rehabs residents as well. We are SO VERY grateful!

Day 7 of our 12 days of Christmas! Christmas hat day! Today sure was a very fun filled day! First we would like to say a HUGE thank you to hinckley big rock elementary & middle school choir for coming to sing some Christmas carols for our residents! Secondly we want to thank our sister facility, prairie crossing living and rehab for inviting our residents over to watch and listen to the Elvis impersonater! We had such a great Wednesday!

Day 6 of our 12 days of Christmas! Wear white! Today we wrote over 100 Christmas cards to send to the Hinckley Big Rock Ag classes! They have done a lot for us here so we want to do something for them! A very good productive Tuesday.

Day 5 of our 12 days of Christmas: bundle up; wear sweats!!! A nice day to dress warm & comfy. We ended our day with a nice hot chocolate social where we chatted, watched some Christmas movies, did some crafts and of course enjoyed some hot chocolate and candy canes!

Day 4 of our 12 days of Christmas! Wear a Christmas shirt! The second picture is pure talent as she made it all by herself! See you all Monday with day 5!

Day 3 of our 12 days of Christmas! Wear red! Also today one of our very own residents held a crochet class for those who wanted to learn! Safe to say she did a GREAT job and we will be doing it again soon!
