This may seem obvious to many of you, but I am stepping out again on faith after surprisingly being interrupted by the Pandemic in 2020.
My heart is to help people, so I took a step to do just that in June 2011, and by 2020 over 1,000 students were trained and certified. I have been committed to coaching those interested in becoming Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistants (CDCAs) in Cleveland the surrounding areas, and Ohio.
My goal, as a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Professional, is to help qualified Ohioans enter the paid profession of chemical dependency counseling.
As my friends and family, I know you will be rooting for me in this renewed endeavor and for that, I am grateful and appreciate it more than I could ever express. I imagine that some of you may need help in this area or know someone that may be going through the challenge of attempting to turn their sponsorship experience into a financially rewarding career right now and just need someone to talk to.
I went through this same thing in 1983 and want to help others work through it because over the years, I came to see the light at the end of the tunnel and came out on the other side.
While I was a 20 years old, high school dropout, enlisted in the USMC, I went through a terrible divorce and considered ending my life. In my depression, I instinctively smoked a significant amount of ma*****na to numb my emotional distress. Suddenly, that week I was required to submit a urine for drug testing. I prayed desperately asking God to turn this impossible situation around, and to my surprise, He did. Not only did my drug screen results return negative, I was assigned that day as the Battalion Drug Counselor. My 42 years in chemical dependency counseling has equipped my to offer the benefit of my professional experience.
I made it through, but entering the counseling profession would have been easier if I had a professional coach to help with the overwhelming challenges of the chemical dependency profession. I know it would have given me clarity on how to begin to speak to clients when the storm got heavy. it just would have been so much of a relief to know that person to coach me through it.
If you or someone you know needs this in their life, simply comment “Yes” and I will inbox you and we’ll take it from there. If you want, you can inbox me directly. I would like to help 5 people in need of moving forward to becoming CDCAs in the next week.
Sincerely,
Karell T. McDaniel, LICDC-CS
