Hanna Perkins Center for Child Development

Hanna Perkins Center for Child Development Helping kids become the boss of themselves since 1951. Early learning, mental health, prof. training. Hanna Perkins School evolved from that organization.

Cleveland's earliest nursery school opened in 1880 – one of the first in the country. Out of that school, the Day Nursery Association of Cleveland was founded to provide specialized training needed for teachers of young children. Today, in addition to operating a highly regarded preschool and kindergarten in Shaker Heights, Ohio, Hanna Perkins is a leading resource for parenting information. Its Hadden Clinic for Children and Families provides a broad range of development guidance for children and adolescents. Its Parent Resource Center and parent/toddler groups offer parents the chance to understand the inner emotional lives of their children. And Hanna Perkins still provides continuing education to teachers, day care workers and other child development specialists.
