Each year, an estimated 4.2 million young people between the ages of 13 and 25 experience homelessness in the U.S. Many are fleeing unsafe homes, sleeping on couches or in shelters, and struggling to meet basic needs.

This November, Bellefaire JCB is proud to join Youth HOPE Month (Homelessness, Outreach, Prevention & Education), a national campaign raising awareness and inspiring action for youth in crisis.

Through our Homeless and Missing Youth Program, Bellefaire provides safety, housing support, counseling, and compassionate care to help young people rebuild their lives.

Together, let’s shine a light on youth homelessness and show young people that help and hope are within reach. 💜

For over 25 years, in partnership with the Jewish Federation of Cleveland, Bellefaire JCB has provided licensed, culturally sensitive therapists to Jewish day schools, ensuring that students, families, and educators have access to meaningful mental health support.

Miriam, a kindergartener at one of our local day schools, is a powerful example of the impact early intervention and community collaboration can make. With guidance from her Bellefaire school-based therapist, support from her family, and ongoing care through our programs, Miriam gained the confidence and skills to thrive, a true reflection of what’s possible when we invest in children’s emotional well-being.💜

For more than 25 years, with generous support from the Jewish Federation of Cleveland, Bellefaire JCB has provided licensed, culturally sensitive therapists to Jewish day schools across Cleveland. These counselors

Bellefaire is honored to receive a $50,000 donation from the PATCH Foundation — founded by members of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT) to support organizations that provide educational, medical, and community-based services for youth.

This incredible gift will benefit our Unsheltered Missing and Transitional Youth Services (UMTYS) Department, helping expand access to essential supplies, advocacy, mental health care, education, and housing resources for youth and young adults in Cuyahoga County who are experiencing homelessness, crisis, and instability.

Thank you to Jim Black, Director of Service, Jim Sherwood, Business Manager/Secretary Treasurer, DC6, and Nichole McCarthy, Director of Administration & Communication, for visiting Bellefaire today to present this generous donation. Your support helps us continue guiding youth toward safety, stability, and hope.

Bellefaire is honored to receive a $94,000 grant from the state of Ohio’s Office of Criminal Justice Services (OCJS) to launch a trauma-informed, coordinated system of support for Cuyahoga County youth ages 13-25 who are survivors of s*x and labor trafficking. Bellefaire is one of 33 nonprofit organizations in 16 counties to receive funding as part of the Direct Services for Victims of Human Trafficking Grant Program, launched by Governor Mike DeWine in 2023.

Bellefaire’s vital program, anticipated to open in January 2026, will offer victims immediate access to crisis support, victim advocacy, and evidence-based clinical care through multiple entry points, including Bellefaire’s 24/7 crisis hotline (216-570-8010) and referrals from trusted community partners.

Our dedicated and survivor-centered team will feature licensed social workers and therapists, a Youth Navigator to work closely with survivors to guide them through every step of recovery, and an Ohio Certified Peer Supporter with lived experience offering ongoing encouragement and support.

Together, we are committed to helping these young survivors heal from trauma, regain stability, and build brighter, safer futures.

📚 Last week, students from Bellefaire’s Monarch Center for Autism had their very first community volunteering experience at the Cleveland Kids’ Book Bank!

While labeling books, they practiced key workplace skills — following directions, staying focused on tasks, and asking for help when needed.

They wrapped up their shift with smiles (and a photo!) featuring some of their favorite books and characters. 💙

“They encourage me to do better and be better…”

That’s the kind of support Bellefaire staff bring to our youth in foster care every day — showing up with compassion, patience, and a commitment to helping each young person grow, even when it’s hard.

Because real change starts with feeling seen, heard, and believed in. 💜

If you want to be part of that impact, consider becoming a foster parent! Learn more at: https://www.bellefairejcb.org/FosterCare
