VNA Health System Shamokin, recently participated in the Montour County Human Service Coalition Community Expo held in Danville. VNA staff shared about VNA services and took blood pressures for those attending. State Representative Michael Steader and County Commissioner Scott Lynn were in attendance. Rep Stender expressed his gratitude to VNA for our services in his coverage area.

The VNA Caring Center, located in the Northumberland County Career and Arts Center, at 2 E. Arch St, Shamokin recently enjoyed spreading some cheer by Trick or Treating with a twist! The Director and some of the clients dressed up and visited the other businesses in the Career and Arts Center and handed out candy, rather than collecting candy for themselves. The VNA Caring Center is owned and operated by VNA Health System, Shamokin, and provides adult day services, activities, lunch, and personal care at its center for seniors in and around the Shamokin area. VNA Health System and Crossings Hospice has once again participated this year in the Wellspan Evangelical Hospitals ”Cookin’ for a Cause” (formally known as Cookin’ Men) helping to raise money for the Thyra M. Humphreys Center for Breast Health in Lewisburg. This is the eleventh year that VNA Community liaison, James White, LPN, and his wife Nancy have participated in this event. The staff at VNA Health System, Shamokin, joined in the Halloween fun as they marched in the Shamokin Halloween Parade. The theme from Disney’s ever popular movie “Toy Story” was chosen to remind the community that with VNA Health System… ”you have a friend in us”!!! Hot Chocolate was also served in front of the VNA office to the parade attenders. The float, candy, and hot chocolate were all made possible by the staff at VNA, who work tirelessly to maintain the VNA reputation of being “one of the top Home Health and Hospice Agencies in Central PA”. VNA has offices also located in Lewisburg, Harrisburg, Lewistown, State College, and Lock Haven, and VNA Private Duty services. VNA also has the Caring Center adult day care in Shamokin!

VNA Health System, Community Nursing Services of Clinton County, recently attended a Senior Expo hosted by State Representative Stephanie Borowicz. The Senior Expo was held in Lock Haven, PA. VNA Health System was represented and met many new people and talked about the home health and hospice services offered through our Community Nursing Services of Clinton County Agency.
