Veterans Day. Mental Health. My two sons enlisted after graduating high school. My oldest joined the Marines and the youngest joined the Navy. My oldest is in law enforcement and my youngest is deceased. How can we help our veterans transition upon their return home? What I've learned is that when they leave their military post they are leaving their (military) "family." Yes, they may be returning to their home town and to their immediate family, but that does not mean it is an easy transition. Be kind, be patient. Enjoy the holidays without expectations.

-are involved with community, family, and spiritual gatherings
-have a sense of purpose that involves service and servanthood
-Eat a predominantly plant-based diet of high nutrient foods.
-Downshift from stress through prayer, meditation, sleep, rest, relaxation, exercise, fun, etc.
-Eat mindfully and stop when 80% full
-Move naturally and incorporate exercise into life
-surround themselves with people who have positive behaviors
-drink sufficient water every day to hydrate the body
-wine at 5:00 with friends - in moderation of course.

Need some ideas for your bananas??? Years ago I used a banana peel to remove a plantars wart from my son's foot (rather than having it burned off by doctor). I wrapped the peel around Paul's foot, taped it in place (taped banana peel to banana peel), then gently put a sock on his foot. No lie - the next morning the wart was gone.
