To help your patients reduce the COVID-19 incidence during Infection Prevention Week please share with your patients and others the BEST non pharmaceutical international Handwashing program that can help families at home, students in the classroom and adults at work! It is a training program everyone can practice if they have soap and water or hand sanitizer without or with paper towels (sani-twice). We commonly refer to these actions as a “handwash”.

It is a “programatic” approach to handwashing and/or hand hygiene with sanitizers or wipes to reduce the potential viral load in case you have not broken your “unconscious habit” of touching your facial mucous membranes. Every 1.5 to 2 hours of “handwash” is recommended to reduce the potential viral load as nearly all commonly touched surfaces can be contaminated by droplets and aerosols due to gravity.

There is a Classroom Handwashing Schedule and Home Handwashing schedule under the Resources menu to download or email to all to launch your COVID-19 Infection Prevention program at home, work or school! Resource Coordinators in schools find it very helpful as a reminder for the frequency of handwashing.

There is an effective animated video on handwashing that everyone will understand regardless of age or language available for free on our website under the Resources page, as well.

Remember an ounce of Prevention is worth a pound of cure!

Thank you for helping to "spread the word not the germs"!
