He will begin seeing patients in Shattuck & Woodward on Friday, January 9th, 2026.

Message from CEO Tom Vasko:
We set out over two years ago to strengthen quality and safety across our entire organization while ensuring we grew responsibly while continuing to serve our communities with excellence.

Thanks to the dedication of the staff and our communities, Newman became the first Rural Health Clinic in the U.S. to earn Joint Commission accreditation and remains the only organization in Oklahoma accredited across its RHCs, Laboratory, and Critical Access Hospital. Our RHCs even received zero findings- a remarkable achievement and a new benchmark for rural healthcare in our state.

In honor of National Rural Health Day, senior leadership from the Joint Commission will join us this Thursday, the 20th at 9:00 a.m. in the lab waiting area to celebrate our accomplishments. Coffee and light refreshments begin at 8:30 a.m.

I’m honored to be part of the Newman legacy and grateful to work alongside the best in healthcare. Looking forward to celebrating with you!

🌟 OU Medical Student Spotlight: Thomas Ashley 🌟

We’ve had the pleasure of hosting Thomas Ashley, a 3rd-year medical student from the University of Oklahoma, here at Newman Healthcare Associates as he completes his Family Medicine Clerkship with Dr. Stuart.

Thomas is originally from Jenks, OK, and has spent the past few weeks learning, growing, and caring for patients right here in Shattuck. He has absolutely loved his time alongside Dr. Stuart, gaining invaluable insights and hands-on experience in family medicine.

When asked about his experience, Thomas shared how much he’s enjoyed learning about the rich history of Newman Memorial Hospital and, of course, sampling the amazing meals in the cafeteria! His favorite so far? The classic Frito Chili Pie! 🌶️🥧

We’re so grateful to have Thomas as part of our team during his rotation and wish him all the best as he continues his journey to becoming a physician! 👨‍⚕️💙
