Midwifery brings much joy and some sorrow! October is Pregnancy and Infant loss awareness month and this year we grieve with so many of our precious families. To those that lost a tiny spark and beginning of a dream, to those that had a baby who could not stay…..we see you and are heartbroken with you. May you be comforted by this poem that one of our amazing Sacred Song moms wrote.

A mother’s touch is tender,
Her heart a well of grace,
Her arms a gentle haven,
Her love a sacred place.
She tends with silent courage,
She prays through sleepless nights,
She walks by faith and not by sight, Trusting God to make things right.

Each kiss upon a forehead,
Each whispered word of care,
Each tear she sheds in silence
Is a heartfelt, holy prayer.
For God has placed within her
A love so pure, so true,
That when she gives it freely-
It’s His love shining through.

So when you see a mother
With weary, outstretched hands,
Know she walks with angels
And in God’s mercy stands.
Her life a living sermon,
Her soul a sacred flame—
And when she calls her children’s names, She lifts up God’s own name.
