Look who’s making the news in southwest Oklahoma! Our very own Southwest Region has been building momentum and meeting monthly to network and grow. This month they partnered with the Steven A Cohen Military Family Clinic in Lawton and hosted a free training. Region president Caley Filipek has been instrumental in the blossoming ideas for the region and is a proud Cameron University alumni as well as part of a military family. If you are in the southwest area of the state consider getting involved!

We are so grateful for those you that joined us today. We had one of the most engaging spring conferences to date! The presenters and attendees all really showed up and we interacted, laughed, and had the best dialogue about all the things that matter in our work. The Q & A’s were lively and there were so many of us connecting from across the state making connections and reconnections on breaks and at lunch. Cultivating connection is such a need and benefit to thriving as clinicians. Thank you for investing in creating community and making our learning together a wonderful occasion!

Our spring conference is designed to engage you and support your needs so we want to hear them! What questions do you have for our lobbyist, Government Relations Committee (GRC), or for the licensure board for LPCs, LMFTs, and LBPs? They are the captive audience available for you during part of their morning sessions next week, so here’s your opportunity to guide the dialogue.

As the state branch of the American Counseling Association, our goal is to be a voice for your professional needs and a space where you can learn and grow alongside colleagues.

Submit your questions so we can be stronger together!

We are looking forward to our two upcoming trainings later this month. Both offer great opportunities for those of you still looking for continuing education before renewals begin in May and June (for LPCs).

Our annual spring conference on April 24th offers a low cost day and high impact content. Legislative support and advocacy on your behalf by our Government Relationship Committee starts the day off with a power hour +, followed by a rare opportunity OCA is honored to provide with representatives from our licensing board (the BBHL) available for Q & A. The afternoon offers an excellent supervision focused presentation with a dynamic presenter.
