Happy weekEND sisters, we hope this one has been an enjoyable weekend for all! Tonight we would like to do a little with you, specifically to all of our sisters who are currently pregnant, or know anyone else that is expecting.

At Sisterhood Services, we offer full spectrum doula care services. Pam is our beloved doula on staff, and is ready to be your doula before, during and after your birthing experience. Pam has training in all of the following areas:
-Massage doula for birth
-Postpartum doula
-Perinatal & infant loss trained
-Full spectrum trained

A doula by definition is a female helper experienced in childbirth who provides information, emotional support and physical comfort to a mother before, during and just after childbirth.

A doula by trade is a someone who listens to your wants in regards to your birthing experience, and does whatever she can to make sure you stay in control of your birthing experience. Doulas are trained to work with women in a hospital and home birth setting.

We believe giving birth is a life changing experience for a woman, and an experience that should be empowering and joyous. These words will mean different scenarios for every unique woman, and are exactly what a doula's guidance will help them achieve. YOU are the one who chooses what an ideal birthing experience looks like for you, your doula will act as your partner in making sure your plan is followed as closely as possible.

In addition to doula services, all doula clients and their partners will also receive a 15% off discount on all services and classes offered through Sheboygan Massage and Sisterhood Services until your baby is three months old.

Every woman deserves a doula. Let your voice be heard, let your birthing experience be everything that you want it to be. Check out more about Pam and the doula care package on our website: www.sisterhoodservices.com

is going to involve a blast from the past, sisters!

Tonight we're sharing a little bit of history about the heroic WOMAN who invented the modern day dishwasher: Josephine G. Cochrane, a fellow Midwestern sister.

We bet you've never heard anyone say - "I wish I didn't have a dishwasher"
Of course not- Why would they!? Dishwashers are an invention useful beyond words!
Personally, we'd just like to say "Thank you sister!!"

Josephine, like much of us (Don't worry sister, your secret is safe with us ๐Ÿ˜‰) was not fond of housework, hence, the idea of making a machine that could wash the dishes for her was born. She took her problem and developed a solution

So when did this genius idea come about? Well, Josephine applied for her first official patent on the idea of the dishwasher all the way back in December of 1886! We told you, blast from the past!

There are so many inventions credited to amazing women of both the past and present. We will be sharing other female inspired inventions in the future, giving due credit to our past sisters who, to this day, make an impact on our day to day lives through the ideas and creations they left behind.

Sisters, we are in this together, there's so much we can teach and learn from each other! We are women and we can achieve amazing things!

Hey, Sisters! Tonight we're celebrating , Halloween style!

We won't market this recipe as a "Wellness Wednesday" dessert, but it is definitely a fun one that will be a crowd pleaser for any age group!

Sisters, let us introduce you to the most spooktacular and simple Halloween dessert ever: Monster Rice Krispie Treats

We love these little monsters for many reasons, but they definitely get a few bonus points from us given you can make them with store bought rice krispie treat squares. Seriously, whether you're simply too busy to make rice krispies from scratch, or just don't enjoy baking in your free time, or you're a mama who knows you're only going to get so much time & dedicated attention span from your little one helping make this fun, festive treat: May we repeat: These monsters are super easy and almost guaranteed to turn out cute for anyone attempting them, so there's no reason not to give them a try!

Here's your ingredient list (The lollipop sticks are totally optional in our opinion):
-Individually Wrapped Store Bought Rice Krispie Treats
-Lollipop Sticks
-Candy Melts
-Parchment Paper
-Candy Eyes

With these ingredients, follow these step by step instructions (which we found on Lil' Luna's website):

PREP. Unwrap the Rice Krispies (or cut your homemade rice krispie into rectangles).

STICKS. Add the lollipop sticks to the bottoms of the treats.

CANDY MELTS. Melt candy melts as directed on package (35 melts will cover 3-4 rice krispie) and dip tops of the treats in melted candy. Place on parchment paper.

DECORATE. Press candy eyes on while candy coating is still wet, and let them set completely. If you want them to set quicker, you can place them in the fridge โ€“ just make sure you put the parchment paper on a cookie sheet first!

And that's it! Seriously, this dessert is so easy it's scary sisters! If you're looking to get even more creative, try using frosting or edible writing gel to give these monsters a mouth or even some spooky hairdo's! Don't be afraid to make those monsters look as wacky as possible, we double dog dare you!

As they say, sisters who make Monster Rice Krispie Treats together, stay together ๐Ÿ’ช

Happy Sunday, Sisters!

We have another class to highlight this morning, this one is a one on one multi-session virtual class.

Menstrual Mentoring is meant to teach women how to accurately track their cycles in order to aid in avoiding or achieving pregnancy, identify hormone imbalance or illness, and learn the basics of cycle syncing (learning how to use the different menstrual phases to your advantage)

Menstrual mentoring is usually a series of 3 classes, each one spaced a cycle apart. With this one on one guidance, you will find yourself left with a much better understanding of your body's rhythm, natural ways to remedy PMS issues, and knowledge on how to balance hormones to make menstruation easy!

Justina P. took our Menstrual Mentoring class and left us this review:
"Pam was so kind, welcoming, and helpful. She answered all of my questions and put my mind at ease about lots of things. I feel much more prepared and feel empowered with my family planning. ๐Ÿ™‚"

Empowering women by offering all-natural complimentary healthcare services, such as our Menstrual Mentoring class, is what we do best in the sisterhood.

When you're ready to take a few hours, we can help you tune out the world & tune into you, sister. Knowledge on how to accurately read your body gives you life long control not only in regards to your fertility, but also your whole person health and wellness.

Your first class can be booked on our website: ww.sisterhoodservices.com

Who else watched Hocus Pocus 2 this past weekend!? Witch please, you know we did ๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿง™โ€โ™€๏ธ

If you haven't seen in it and still want to give it a watch without being spoiled, STOP reading now! Seriously, keep scrolling sister.

For those who have seen it, let's talk about that ending scene where Winifred gave up everything after realizing the Magica Maxima spell had cost her what she valued most, her beloved sisters. Winifred says "My powers are nothing without my sisters" after feeling the heartbreak of losing them forever.

What a wonderful way for the Sanderson sisters to end their reign as Salem's most legendary coven. As Winifred explains, her sisters are her kin, and life without them is a heartbreaking and unacceptable reality.

We don't exactly practice spells and witchcraft at Sisterhood Services, but the strength of sisterhood is something we definitely do have in common with the Sanderson th*****me. After all, no one can support, encourage, inspire, or share joys or challenges with a woman like another woman. This is exactly what our sisterhood is all about โค

It's , sisters โค

Today we're talking about a type of photography most of you have probably heard of: Bo***ir.

But let's dive deeper into the roots of Bo***ir Photography, and how it gained so much popularity as a form of female empowerment, self-appreciation and body positivity with women today.

Bo***ir actually started in France, and literally means "to sulk' or "a sulking place". This is because sulking was viewed as something a woman should do in private, and thus only when she was in a private room or her bedroom. Furthermore, the French word "bouder" is a reference to a room where a woman can change her clothes and do her hair and makeup, all while out of the view of others.

The 1920's was when Bo***ir first showed up in the way we think about it now, thanks to photographer Albert Arthur Allen. At this time, nudity in photography was illegal, so Bo***ir was definitely not an immediate crowd pleaser and was essentially an "underground" activity, not something every-day women would be seeking out.

Fast forward to around the 1940's, Bo***ir was gaining a bit more popularity, now often involving females posing with tasteful props. The pin-up girl revolution also helped Bo***ir gain acceptance, especially from Hollywood stars such as Marilyn Monroe who began her career with Bo***ir pin-up photography. The US Military also used similar photography concepts to help catch the attention of & encourage young men to enlist. Some women who's husbands were away at war even sent pin-up/Bo***ir type photos to their husbands in attempts of encouraging them to return home safely.

From the 1970's to present day, Bo***ir has been an increasingly accepted & often celebrated way for women's real bodies and natural beauty to be captured unapologetically through photography. Today, Bo***ir is even a gift bride's may consider for their husbands, or even something a couple may do together. It's also an art form many pregnant women use to honor their changing, beautiful bodies as the miracle of life is growing inside them.

So the next time you hear about someone you know doing a Bo***ir photoshoot, see an advertisement pop up on your Facebook feed, or even look into booking your own session- Take a moment to appreciate where Bo***ir started, and where it is now. The journey to accepting the female body in all of it's beautiful forms has come a long way. And for that, we encourage any sister who's on the fence about trying a Bo***ir session to take the leap, make the call, book the appointment, embrace your body for all of its beauty and experience the self love that has made Bo***ir the sensation it has become.

Hey sister, you got this.
