Rebecca Stutts Hovater
HKH Foundation Board Member
Mrs. Hovater is a proud two-time graduate of Auburn University, where she earned both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees. While at Auburn, she was a member and officer of her sorority, Alpha Gamma Delta, as well as other clubs and organizations. As a senior, she was inducted into the Cater Society—an honor bestowed upon the top 10 senior women on campus.
Since starting at State Farm, Rebecca has received numerous company awards, including the Million Dollar Round Table, Ambassador Travel, Honor Club, Regional Checkpoint, and Bronze Tablet. Her office has grown by over 400% since she began. Rebecca’s agency has also been voted #1 for insurance by the local community. Her favorite aspect of her career is helping customers and educating them about insurance. She feels that her teaching background enables her to communicate effectively and address customer concerns (pun intended) on an elementary level.
In the Shoals community,
Rebecca has served on numerous boards and in various volunteer capacities. She is a sustaining member of the Shoals Junior League and a past board member of Shoals Scholar Dollar, the Tennessee Valley Art Association, Shoals Chamber of Commerce, and Covenant Christian School. She is a member and two-time past president of the Sheffield Kiwanis Club and has served the Children’s Museum of the Shoals as a “Museum Mommy.” Rebecca is also a member of the Chief Colbert chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and has held several officer positions within the chapter. Currently, Mrs. Hovater serves as President of Sheffield Central and is a member of the Shoals Business Incubator Board and the Helen Keller Foundation Board. She is a regular contributor to The Courier Journal (circulation over 70,000) through her “Insurance Insights” column. Recently, Rebecca was honored as one of six finalists for the 2025 “Shoals Woman of the Year.”
Rebecca and her family are members of First Presbyterian Church in Tuscumbia, where she serves as a Sunday School teacher and officer for Women in the Church.
When not working, Rebecca enjoys reading, needlepoint, exercise (especially tennis and Peloton), and cooking. A native of the Shoals Area, she proudly calls it home with her husband of 16 years, Greg, and their three children: Michael (12), Libby (10), and Sarah Kate (8).
Thank you, Rebecca for your time and dedication you give to our mission.
