Jill is a locally trained yoga teacher who received her certification in 2016 and brings a calm and supportive presence to her classes. She enjoys guiding slow flow and mindfulness-based practices that help us reconnect with our breath, body, and inner awareness. After stepping away from teaching to focus on her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision, Jill is excited to return to teaching and reconnect with the yoga community. She is passionate about mindfulness and believes in bridging awareness from the mat into everyday life. Her classes offer a welcoming space, whether you’re an experienced practitioner, a beginner, or easing back into your practice.

Looking for a good place to move your body during the heat wave?
Our air conditioned studio is comfortably cool, and all classes will be running this week.
New dance class with Felice Wolfzahn begins Monday June 23!
Back in Motion: Contemporary Dance-
Would you like to take a dance class or get back into moving! These all-levels classes will focus on the enjoyment of moving and being in our bodies through a variety of approaches.
Warm ups will use developmental movement patters that emphasize body awareness, use of breath and release of excess tension. Classes will build using basic movement patterns, learning short movement phrases and guided improvisations. We will explore luscious moving across the floor and end with a gentle warm down. Classes help us build strength, flexibility coordination, musicality and spatial awareness through a gentle, somatic, and fun approach.
Kate Pousont Scarborough is back and will be teaching on May 31. Hope to see you there!
For the month of June, we're delighted to welcome Amanda Leigh to Shelburne Falls Yoga. Amanda has been practicing yoga for 20 years, received her yoga teaching certification 10 years ago, and enjoys teaching a flow/vinyasa style practice with an emphasis on mindful movement and breath awareness.
With so much gratitude to Emily Redman, who will be departing later this month due to a schedule conflict, we've started the search for a new instructor for the Saturday morning Vinyasa class.
You already know about our beautiful space, skilled teachers, and welcoming atmosphere. So what's the secret?

Thursday Evening Unwind: Moderate Yoga
with Abby Noyes, 5:45-6:45pm
A light weekly asana practice to unwind the day's tensions, this moderately-paced early evening class focuses on your body’s needs, offering ample opportunities to coordinate awareness, breath, and movement, inviting you to attend to your own body at the end of the day. Attuning to the students' and the seasons’ rhythms, the class includes joint, fluid body, and muscle group warm ups; asana; breathing awareness; and generous rests in Savasana. Modifications and alternate propping provided as needed. No yoga experience needed.
Abby began practicing yoga in San Francisco, CA in 2003 at the age of 16. She received her 500-hour training from The Yoga Room, Berkeley, graduating from the Advanced Studies Program in 2022. She became certified in Relax and Renew® Restorative Yoga in 2019. Abby’s interest lies in helping students develop a deep-felt sense, and a functional understanding of their own anatomy and nervous system such that they might feel empowered and cohered, and that deeper layers of patterning can come forward to unwind. Some of the many modalities Abby works with include developmental movement, Body-Mind centering, Shadow Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, and Taoist elemental meditations. In addition to this work, Abby is a gardener, herbalist, naturalist, cyclist, artist, and bodyworker offering Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy and Chi Nei Tsang Abdominal Massage.

Welcome to Shelburne Falls Yoga! We are a vibrant and growing community of students and teachers offering a range of classes in Yoga, Fitness, Qigong, and Tai Chi for students of all ages and levels of experience. Within this uniquely beautiful and beloved setting, Shelburne Falls Yoga offers a spacious studio overlooking the nearby Salmon Falls and Glacial Potholes with caring and experienced instructors dedicated to guiding you toward greater levels of vitality, health, and well-being.
Each of our offerings honors the individual, promotes self-compassion, and taps into the full potential of each student with classes designed to bring the breath, the body, and the mind into optimal alignment. Many students notice significant gains in strength and flexibility and experience greater levels of calm and clarity as they learn to harness the power of breath and body working together.
The practice of Yoga is both ancient and broad. Given the wide variety of interpretations of yoga teachings and the range of skill and intentions amongst teachers and studios, it can be hard to know what to expect when entering a yoga class setting. Our aim is to provide a nurturing and challenging environment in which you will learn the skills for discovering and sustaining long-term health and vitality at whatever depth and level of practice is suitable for you. Listed below are just a few of the practices you will have an opportunity to explore as a member of our unique yoga community:
Safe and Efficient Movement Patterns- Learn to identify how muscles are in use in a given posture, how the spine, pelvis, and limbs relate to one another, and where to initiate motion and effort for safe and effective movement.
Non-Judging Awareness- Practice suspending judgment while anchoring attention to the present moment, cultivating a more meaningful and realistic relationship with your body and your surroundings
Stability and Mobility- Find a functional and dynamic balance between strength and flexibility, allowing for optimal range of motion while avoiding the potential dangers of excessive mobility.
Balance- Promote balance in thought, in motion, in breath, and in the systems of the body to create a strong foundation from which to choose your next course of action both on and off the mat.
We look forward to welcoming you to Shelburne Falls Yoga!
