Rita B, a cherished native of Detroit, has woven a life rich in love, faith, and family. Growing up with her three brothers—Edward, Leonard, and Raymond—has instilled in her a profound appreciation for family bonds and togetherness. As a devoted homemaker, Rita embraced the role of nurturing her beautiful family alongside her late husbands, Frank and Bruno, as she lovingly raised her three wonderful children: Judy Nitsche, Janice Chomicz, and Terry Jettke.
Throughout her incredible 105 years, Rita’s Catholic faith has been a guiding light and source of strength. She finds joy in the simplest moments, whether it’s relishing a bowl of vanilla ice cream or joyfully tapping her feet (and occasionally getting up from her wheelchair!) to live music. On sunny days in Michigan, her radiant smile lights up the outdoors, where she loves to soak in the sunshine.
As a devoted Detroit Tigers fan, Rita never misses an opportunity to cheer on her favorite team, bringing her family together under the shared excitement of the game. She treasures gentle moments filled with love, laughter, and the rich stories that reflect her more than a century of life experiences.
When her family speaks of Rita, their admiration is palpable; she is known for being an extraordinary mother whose boundless love and warmth have nurtured and shaped generations.
