Finally, a simple explanation for why your child melts down over what feels like "nothing." For kids with Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), their brain and nervous system get stuck in “overdrive.”
Things that don’t bother most people can feel really hard for them. A tag that feels like sandpaper. A birthday party that feels like total chaos. Constant crashing, jumping, and moving.

SPD makes it tough for kids to handle sights, sounds, textures, and even everyday changes. And it’s more common than you think — 1 in 6 kids struggle with it.

When their brain isn’t getting clear messages, it shows up as:

Big meltdowns and outbursts
Trouble sitting still or focusing
Struggles with clothing, food, or sounds
Difficulty calming themselves down
Poor sleep, balance, or coordination
