The only study ever done on the effects of fl**ge sizes on mother’s comfort and milk output was completed this year, and the results are WILD!🙀The fl**ges that come with pumps are way too big and are not evidence-based. While the average ni**le size is 16mm, many moms I see are smaller!

While some moms can pump with incorrect fl**ge sizes and have no problem, most people will benefit from correct sizing.

Birthstone Breastfeeding & Wellness Center is accepting more donor breastmilk through the NCBC SAFE team project to be stored and dispensed from sylva.

If you have breastmilk to donate, please text 828-331-1592.

We are running very low and have moms in need.

We do have some mild requirements of donors—they just have to fill out a form.

Any amount of breastmilk is better than no breastmilk!

Yall have been so generous giving winter items for mamas and their babies who are still without power. Today I received in the mail some beautiful hand-made quilts from NJ and they will be going up the mountain on Friday. I have been told these moms are also requesting headlamps so they can read to their babies at night. If you feel so inclined, I added some to my Amazon wishlist. If you can get them to me by Thursday I'll make sure they get sent with the quilts! 🙏🏼

Just helped fill a U-haul trailer with clothing and supplies. We have very little left here to distribute, and while many are no longer accepting donations due to the tremendous outpouring of gifts, we know needs will continue to arise in the months to come. Know that none of your donations have ever been dropped at a large distribution site but rather went directly into the hands of individuals and families. I will continue to accept and distribute donations appropriately as they come in. And in the next few days I will share links to some amazing groups that are doing fantastic work getting needs met in our mountain communities.
