☕️🍫 Hot Chocolate Happiness at Shelby Manor! 🍫☕️

Today our residents enjoyed a sweet, warm treat with a cozy hot chocolate bar and a Christmas trivia game! (Seems to be a new favorite) Our Activity Director put together the perfect little pick-me-up, and it couldn’t have come at a better time on this chilly day. ❄️❤️

Smiles were warm, cups were full, and hearts were happy! There’s nothing better than sharing a little comfort and joy with our residents. 🥰✨

🎄✨ Today our residents were treated to a very special visit from the Holly Dolly Ladies! These sweet ladies walked around our community singing, spreading Christmas cheer, and making lots of new fans along the way. 💕🎶

They truly were a sweet little treat for our residents—bringing smiles, joy, and even sweet goodies to share! 🍬🎁 The holiday spirit was definitely felt throughout our halls today.

✨ THREE VERY SPECIAL VISITS TODAY! ✨
Our hearts are overflowing here at Shelby Manor! We were blessed again today with not just one or two, but three incredibly meaningful visits from some very precious people who chose to spend their time with us. 💛

We learned so much, heard so much, sang our hearts out, and enjoyed every single moment together. Days like this remind us just how lucky we are to have a community that surrounds our residents with love, joy, and kindness.

A HUGE thank you to:

❤️ The Red Hat Ladies – for coming today and bringing your warmth, joy, and beautiful spirit into our home. Thank you for the stories you shared, and the beautiful poetry.

🎶 South Mountain Bluegrass Band (not their officially name)– for filling our dining room with music that makes everyone smile from the inside out. They had a blast singing and already want to know when you will return!

⛪️ Beaver Dam Baptist Church and their precious children – for returning with your sweet voices, big hearts, and genuine love for our residents. They had so mych fun doing crafts together!

To each of you… thank you for once again sharing your time, talents, and love with our community. We are truly blessed by your visits. 💕

Tonight, we were truly honored to welcome Darren and Brooke Aldridge to Shelby Manor! This incredible husband-and-wife duo travels all over sharing their remarkable talent, and they brought so much joy to our community this evening.

We enjoyed a beautiful mix of Christmas music 🎄—songs our residents sang along to with big smiles—as well as a few of Darren and Brooke’s own pieces. It was such a fun and festive way to bring in the Christmas spirit, and the room was filled with laughter, music, and the sweetest holiday energy. ❤️

We had over half of our residents gathered in the dining room, with even more lined up in the hallway just to listen. Seeing everyone tapping their feet, singing along, and truly soaking up the moment made this night unforgettable. ✨

And a fun fact about this amazing power couple: in just two weeks they’ll be performing live at the Grand Ole Opry—and it’s not even their first time! 🌟

Here are a few important reminders for this week and next:

✨ Door Decorating Contest
Due to a few requests, the deadline has been extended to Friday, December 12. Please feel free to come decorate your family member’s door and make it fun and festive for the Christmas season!
Winner will be announced next Thursday, December 18 at our Resident Christmas Party, and will receive a prize! 🎁

🎅 Santa Gifts Due Friday, December 12
Please provide one wrapped gift for your family member or sponsored resident. If you are unable to turn it in by the 12th, please contact Chelsey.

📸 Family Christmas photos this Sunday, December 14 from 1-3. Come join us for a Christmas photo with your family! Photos are FREE of charge. You may make a donation is you choose. All proceeds will go straight to the activity fund/ Christmas party!

❤️ Christmas Donations
We are still collecting donations for residents who are not receiving gifts this year and for our Christmas party. Any donation—big or small—helps make “Santa Operations” a success!
Any remaining funds will roll over into the Activities Program for 2025 to help restock supplies.

🫘 Bean Raffle Donations
We are still collecting snacks, drinks, candy, and similar items for our bean raffle. The residents are so excited and counting down the days! This is a no-cost event for them; I will be supplying everything they need to participate.

🛍️ Bingo Store – This Thursday, December 11
Our residents earn bingo money during Monday, Wednesday, and Friday games, and they LOVE shopping at the bingo store! Items include useful or needed things—and this time of year, many are shopping for their loved ones.
If you have new or gently used items you no longer need, please consider donating them!

⭐ Volunteers Needed
We are always looking for volunteers to come spend time with our residents. Whether you have a special talent, skill, hobby, or simply enjoy interacting with seniors, we would love to have you! Our residents enjoy crafts, entertainment, and community involvement.

Today we had our Staff Appreciation and Resident Luncheon, and our hearts are so full! A HUGE shoutout to the amazing family and friends who paid for and served our meal. Your kindness, generosity, and hospitality did not go unnoticed.

✨ Special Thank You to the Shelby Police Department! ✨

A huge shoutout to the Shelby Police Department for coming out today and putting on an incredible K-9 demonstration! Our residents absolutely loved watching the dogs in action and learning more about the important work they do. 🐾💙

We are always grateful when our first responders take the time to visit our community and connect with our residents. Your presence means so much to us!

She came in today and helped our residents make the cutest Christmas crafts, and we had soooo much fun! The room was full of laughter, creativity, and holiday cheer — exactly what this season is all about! 🎅🏼✨🎨

Our residents loved every minute, and we’re so grateful for the time and joy tofuy brought! Volunteers bring so much happiness to our community. 🥰

A heartfelt thank you to Tina from Centerwell for coming into our building and creating such a BEAUTIFUL Christmas tree for our residents to enjoy. Your kindness, creativity, and the wonderful service you and your team provide mean so much. We are so grateful for your partnership and the joy you help bring into our home this season. ❤️🎄

And a big shout out to Rick, our incredible maintenance man, for his stunning candy cane tree! He put it up completely on his own, and it turned out absolutely amazing. Thank you, Rick, for always going above and beyond for our residents and our building. 👏🏼❤️
