We believe that each patient's situation is unique, and requires an individualized treatment plan and approach. We provide assistance in the managment of a full scope of chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, thyroid disorders, arthritis and weight loss. Testing and treatment for illnesses such as colds, sinus and upper respiratory infections, skin conditions, urinary tract infections and stomach viruses is always available. Kenda Harrison attained her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from University of Alabama in Huntsville. She is a board certified family nurse practitioner as well as diabetes educator, and enjoys working with patients to manage their diabetes with not only the latest medications, but also with dietary and lifestyle changes that fit their needs and individual situations. Women's health care services such as cervical cancer screening, treatment of painful, heavy or irregular periods as well as family planning are available. Cervical cancer screening and prevention is a special focus for Kenda, and was the topic of her doctoral dissertation. An article on cervical cancer screening practices which she authored was the front cover feature of the respected peer-reviewed medical journal Clinical Advisor in December of 2015. For folks who would like to get a COVID vaccine- Bedford County Health Department has next day appts available. Tennessee is currently vaccinating phase 1c, which includes individuals 65+ as well as persons 16 and over with comorbidities including obesity, respiratory diseases, diabetes, history of stroke, high blood pressure or heart disease, renal disease, neurological disorders or pregnant women. When you take obesity and/or high blood pressure into consideration, the majority of the adult population of Tennessee is eligible for the vaccine at present. You do not have to be a Bedford County resident to make an appt at the Bedford County Health Department. You do not even have to get out of your car to get the injection- it is a drive through clinic. Here is the link for the questionaire to determine if you are eligible, and make the appt if you are:
