Motivation comes when you gain momentum via consistency.
We take attendance at our 3 weekly meetups. Why? It provides motivation for people to show up. Once they start showing up, they gain momentum and then keep coming. It's kind of fun to rise to the top of the attendance list.
A lot of people struggle to stay committed to an exercise plan without a little support and accountability.
Do you find yourself in a similar place? You want to exercise. You know you need to exercise because of the numerous mind and body benefits, but you just struggle to do it on your own?
Aside for doing the weekly Shelby Roadrunners email list, Marsha Apsley has a weekly faith and fitness email that goes out. This month the focus of her emails has been about how you can get moving and stay moving. This week, the topic was busting excuses and finding motivation. She says that when you commit to something you start to gain momentum and thus you find your motivation. Simply put - you get going and you stay going. Why? You're feeling better - physically, mentally, and spiritually.
There's almost 2 weeks left of this month. You can get her emails by signing up here: https://marshaapsley.com/move/ and/or you can join us at an upcoming run/walk. Although we're Shelby Roadrunners, we have walkers, too! You can find out more about the group and when and where we meet here: https://marshaapsley.com/shelbyroadrunners/
