My Yoga Story...
I have been practicing yoga since 2004. I sought yoga as a means to work though some depression issues that I was experiencing at that point in my life. I was very fortunate to begin practicing yoga with an amazing teacher, Dani Ibarra. I also was blessed with a Yoga Works studio very close to my home in Valencia, CA One of the first extended workshops I ever attended was with Natasha Rizopoulos and it was there where I fell in love with Vinyasa Flow Yoga. Over the years I enjoyed a consistent yoga practice that was life-changing in many ways! In 2018 I was offered a position as Fitness Coordinator at the Shelbyville Recreation Center in Shelbyville, TN. I started teaching yoga at that time while concurrently enrolled in Yoga Teacher Training at Abundant Yoga in Franklin, TN with the amazing Keleah Anderson. It was at Abundant where, along with our comprehensive 200 hour teacher training, I learned to weave my Christian faith into my yoga practice and teaching.
I'm a Southern California native who is now living in Tennessee. I have been married to my amazing husband since 1989 and we have two beautiful kids, Alyssa and Will and a pretty terrific grandson named Jax! I live on a small farm in Southern Middle Tennessee where we have a spoiled retired hunter/jumper named Bruno, two rescued Jack Russells, Festus and Molly Sue and a flock of chicken ladies :)
With yoga, I want to encourage the person seeking meaningful movement to honor their body while extending to themselves grace and peace as they seek to built strength, stability and stillness into their life. In this process I pray they know the heart of the One who is abundantly kind and extends infinite grace and peace to those He calls His own.
Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. 2 Peter 1:2
