Have you ever gone to the bathroom even when you didnt feel the urge??
“Just in case” peeing may be hurting your bladder more than helping it.
Many of us were taught to use the bathroom before leaving the house, before a meeting, before bed, before a workout… just in case.
But emptying your bladder when it isn't actually full can train it to send urgency signals earlier and earlier. Over time, this can contribute to frequency, urgency, and bladder irritation.
A healthy bladder is designed to fill and store urine. Not every urge means it's time to run to the bathroom!
If you're constantly planning your day around bathroom trips, leaking, or feeling like you always need to go… pelvic floor therapy can stop the urgency without a medication!

Your organs are meant to move within you.

The body is deeply connected, and when we improve mobility internally, patients often notice improvements they never expected. And they usually feel better immediately!

The bladder, uterus, bowels, galbladder, stomach or surrounding tissues lose mobility from surgery, inflammation, pregnancy, stress, posture, or scar tissue… the pelvic floor often has to compensate.

This can contribute to:
✨ Pelvic pain
✨ Painful periods
✨ Constipation
✨ Pain with intimacy
✨ Low back or hip pain
✨ Feeling of pressure or heaviness
✨ Bladder urgency or frequency

Visceral mobility work focuses on restoring healthy movement and glide between the organs and surrounding tissues. Gentle hands-on techniques can help improve circulation, reduce tension patterns, and allow the pelvic floor to function as it should.

Sometimes the issue isn’t just “tight muscles” — it’s the tissues underneath that aren’t moving well together.

Perimenopause can feel like your body suddenly changed the rules without warning.

One minute you’re fine… the next you’re dealing with:
• bladder leaks
• urgency/frequency
• painful intimacy
• pelvic pressure
• constipation
• vaginal dryness/irritation
• increased tension in the pelvic floor
• trouble sleeping and higher stress levels
• muscles aches and pains
• anxiety/depressionion

Hormonal shifts during perimenopause can affect the muscles, tissues, and nervous system of the pelvic floor more than most women realize.

The good news?
You do NOT have to “just live with it.”

Pelvic floor therapy can help improve:
✨ bladder control
✨ core and pelvic stability
✨ pain with intimacy
✨ bowel function
✨ pelvic tension
✨ body awareness and strength
✨ regulating nervous systems

Your symptoms are real, valid, and common — but common does not mean normal. Your body deserves support through every stage of womanhood. 🫶🏻

The Postpartum phase has been is so overlooked in women’s health. It’s time we listen to the mama when she expresses a concern (most of the time their concerns are right!) and send the pelvic floor referrals!! I’ve never heard, “kegels made my life better/solved my leakages.”

Your mouth is so connected to your pelvic floor!! Relax that jaw, breathe deep, notice your daily habits, and come see me to address it with relaxation!

Most pelvic floor issues aren’t just about weakness — they’re about habits.
During your first visit, we look at your daily routines to see if small changes could make a big difference in your pelvic health.
And yes… one of the most common things I hear is:
“Wait… you’re not supposed to push to pee?”

Prenatal care has been tanking for a while. But it never has in my office. It seems like patients had to complain and beg for help before coming to therapy. Or even worse they would be told “that’s normal” and find a way to me anyways… To me, it might be common but there’s something we can do about it!

Here’s 5 ways a pelvic floor therapist can support women during pregnancy!

1. Educating on labor positions with and without an epidural can be a fun therapy session! You need to know ways to move your body to help labor progress! (Keep upright and moving mama!!)
2. Exercise during pregnancy has always been a taboo topic. I say, move your body! Listen to your body! I’ll show you effective and safe ways to exercise so you feel ready for labor.
3. Reducing pelvic floor tension! No one else is going to tell you if your pelvic floor has tension besides a pelvic floor therapist. It must YIELD to have a baby. A pelvic floor with tension could be troublesome. You at least need to learn how to relax your pelvic floor and use these tools in labor!
4. I help women reduce pain. When you feel better, you move easier. When you move easier, labor tends to flow easier. Now, being 9 months pregnant will probably always feel uncomfortable at times, but we can at least go over strategies to limit pain and change daily routines to make life a bit easier on your growing body!
5. Advocacy!!! I am supporting women through and through. I am teaching them about their own bodies, and empowering them to advocate for themselves in this crazy crazy world!

And at some point, her tiny hand dimples disappeared.

Cherish the open mouth kisses.

The holding of one finger everywhere we walked.

Memorize the toothless smile.

Stay latched as long as you want.

Don’t correct the cute way they mispronounce words.

Soak it in mama 🫶🏻 it goes by too fast.

The moment my two angel babies met. A day I’ll never forget. Postpartum really is a journey, so many highs and lows. But that summer was the best season ever, wrapped up in a bubble with my little family.
