June is coming up fast. Bella is very excited and grateful that she was nominated and accepted to go to the educational opportunity. We are roughly $520 still to go to pay her tuition we have already paid $2,600. Just sending the link out once again in case anyone wants to help support her on this journey to build a foundation in STEM as she will discover 3 unique arenas - engineering, medicine and forensics. She will also be building upon her leadership skills. We appreciate all the support she has already received and still to come.

It is with extreme sorrow that I must announce the sudden temporary closure of Recovery Cafe as of 3/11/2025. We can not answer questions at this time, but we will say this is not the end. We apologize for the very short notice and any inconvenience this may cause. We ask that people please not to speculate or spread misinformation about this. This is hard enough as it is and we are working hard to bring the Cafe back with a relaunch under a new auspice agency.

Personal statement from staff:
Please know that we love you all with all our hearts. We will never stop fighting for the cafe or our people.

Meet Star: A Journey of Struggle and Triumph

This is one of our incredible peers, Star! She asked us to share her story to inspire others with her journey through recovery.

Last month, we were able to house Star, but her path took an unexpected turn. Struggling to stay in recovery, she lost her housing and found herself back on the street, feeling miserable in her addiction. Determined to turn her life around, Star enrolled in a dual service treatment program for mental health and addiction. She then reached out to us, ready to fully embrace a life of recovery.

Star completed her program and returned to us this morning, eager to begin her outpatient services and get back on track for housing. Today, we are working hard to support Star in every way we can on her journey. We are so proud of you, Star!

When asked what message she would like to share with others, Star said, "Only you can do it, only you can make the decision to finally be free from addiction and work hard to get where you want to be. You have to love yourself, even through the toughest times that seem impossible." She thanks all of her support teams who has been involved and not given up on her, Recovery Cafe Mason County, OHRS LEAD program, Proactive Supportive Housing, Community Lifeline, Be A Better You Counseling, Mason County Community Resources, Crossroads Housing, New Directions Counseling, and more, because with a great group of different teams working together, all things are possible.

Let's all stand together and support Star and others on their recovery journeys! 💪🌟
