Celebrating Leadership and Impact
At the Fairfield County Medical Association (FCMA)’s Annual Fall Physician Reception & Award Ceremony, Past President Camelia Lawrence, MD, FACS presented the FCMA President’s Plaque to Dr. Joe Feuerstein, recognizing his outstanding leadership as President of the Association.
Dr. Lawrence shared:
“Under Dr. Feuerstein’s steady and strategic leadership, the Fairfield County Medical Association has experienced a year of remarkable growth, visibility, and advocacy. He strengthened membership, expanded educational programming, and elevated the physician voice across Fairfield County and the state. He is widely respected as a physician, author, teacher, and innovator, working at Greenwich Hospital and as a concierge physician in Fairfield County, while teaching at Quinnipiac University, Columbia University, and The University of Arizona.”
During his tenure, FCMA welcomed more than 30 new physician members, conducted a county-wide membership survey, and hosted a dynamic calendar of events... from CME dinners in Danbury, Southport, and Norwalk to a lively March Physician Social, the summer “Putt FORE Physicians” contest, two open houses, and a pediatrician Town Hall.
Dr. Feuerstein also revitalized the Dr. Melville G. Magida Award, honoring six exemplary physician leaders, and forged deeper partnerships with hospitals, universities, and community organizations.
Equally impactful was his legislative leadership. He established FCMA’s Legislative Committee, advanced key priorities on Medicaid reimbursement, prior authorization reform, and Scope of Practice protection, and helped provide compelling testimony at the State Capitol on behalf of physicians and patients.
Through his vision, persistence, and collaborative spirit, Dr. Feuerstein has positioned FCMA as a stronger, more engaged, and more effective advocate for medicine and public health in Fairfield County.
Congratulations, Dr. Feuerstein, on an extraordinary year of leadership and service!
