It was wonderful to see so many members of the Fairfield County Medical Association at the Greater Bridgeport Medical Association 2026 Annual Dinner, Scholarship, and Awards Night in support of the evening’s honorees and scholarship recipients. The strong support and collaboration between the fcma.org and gbmedical.org continue to strengthen the physician community throughout Fairfield County and the Greater Bridgeport region. The Fairfield County Medical Association is pleased to highlight QuikDraw School of Allied Health Careers as an FCMA Affinity Partner.

QuikDraw is offering a Vaccine Administration Course for Medical Assistants and Medics designed to help practices meet Connecticut’s evolving healthcare workforce needs. The program includes online classroom instruction along with supervised clinical training and provides participants with the education required under Connecticut legislation authorizing qualified Medical Assistants to administer vaccines under physician supervision.

The Connecticut Mirror recently published the Fairfield County Medical Association’s perspective on medical debt, co-signed by FCMA President Raymond Paul Lorenzoni III, MD, and 18 other medical societies, in response to a recent op-ed.

Our statement highlights how high-deductible health plans continue to shift financial responsibility onto patients and physicians, and calls for policy solutions that address the root causes of medical debt rather than placing blame on providers.

While it would be impossible to recognize each of our members individually, we extend a special thank you to the leadership of the FCMA, our Board of Trustees, whose guidance, advocacy, and commitment help move our organization and our mission forward throughout the year.

A great evening in for an outstanding lecture, “Redefining Breast Cancer Surgery: Sensation Preservation, Lymphedema Prevention and Next-Generation Care,” featuring Fairfield County Medical Association (FCMA) member Valerie Brutus, MD FACS of Hartford HealthCare. The program highlighted important advances in surgical care and brought together physicians dedicated to improving outcomes for patients across our region.

It was wonderful to see strong FCMA representation, including Dr. Patricia Lampugnale, FCMA Vice President Dr. Andrew Wong, and FCMA Trustee Dr. Jill Denowitz of Concierge Physicians of Westport.
