Inspired by artist Mike Kelley, who transformed stuffed animals and fabric into powerful works of art, this group invites kids to explore sewing (by hand and with a machine!) to create their own stitched art pieces and funky fabric art.

But it’s more than just art, sewing can also help kids:
Build focus and patience
Reduce anxiety through calming, repetitive movements
Grow confidence and connection as they create alongside peers

Please reach out to Emily at epburnsart@gmail.com for more information or to sign up.

Group is $35 per child
Medicaid accepted

Child must be signed up to attend.

You don’t have to be an artist to experience the therapeutic magic of creating. The simple act of making something can help calm the mind, process emotions, and bring a sense of peace. It’s not about the end result, but the process itself. Creating gives us space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with ourselves.

🎨 Join us for an afternoon of fun and relaxation with an instructor led painting session in the park!🎨

Shepherdsville Parks and Recreation hosts “Art in the Park” Saturday August 9th 11am-1pm.
