Play is powerful in OT 💫
Stretching, pulling, and exploring toys like slinkies and pipe cleaners help build fine motor strength, coordination, and hand skills needed for everyday tasks like writing, dressing, and more!

What’s your child’s favorite hands-on toy at home? 👇

✏️💙 Let’s Get Creative with Writing! 💙✏️

In therapy, writing can be so much more fun when kids get to be the boss! 🙌 This friend came up with their own sentence—and then brought it to life on paper!

This simple activity builds:
🖐️ Handwriting & fine motor skills
🧠 Creativity and imagination
📖 Sentence structure & language skills
💬 Confidence in expressing ideas

When kids are excited about what they’re writing, the learning just flows! ✨

Try it at home: ask your child to come up with a silly or fun sentence and write it out together!

Today’s mission?
✨ Building social skills through PLAY. ✨

What looks like fun and games is actually some serious skill-building in action. 💙

During this session, our friend was working on:

🎲 Taking turns
🎲 Sharing space and toys
🎲 Following directions
🎲 Problem-solving
🎲 Learning how to play with others—not just beside them

Play is powerful—and around here, it’s also therapy. 💙

💙 Today is Apraxia Awareness Day! 💙

Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) is a motor speech disorder that affects how the brain plans and coordinates the movements needed for speech.

Children with apraxia know what they want to say, but the messages from the brain to the mouth may not send correctly—making speech difficult, inconsistent, or hard to understand. 🗣️

Some common signs of apraxia can include:
💙 Difficulty putting sounds and words together
💙 Inconsistent speech errors
💙 Trouble imitating words or sounds
💙 Delayed speech development

Every child with apraxia is unique, and every word spoken is a huge accomplishment worth celebrating. 🌟

Today we help spread awareness, understanding, and support for the amazing children and families navigating apraxia every day. 💙

🎤💬 SLP Month energy check 💬🎤

“Not every child is excited to come work on speech with us… and that’s completely fine…”

✨ “They’re going to love it here.” ✨

And that’s exactly what we aim for 💛

Because speech therapy is about connection, confidence, communication, and making progress feel fun and achievable every step of the way 👏

Here’s to our amazing SLPs who make every session meaningful, supportive, and full of growth 🗣️✨

Did you know? 💙

Cri du Chat Syndrome is a rare genetic condition caused by a deletion on chromosome 5. The name “Cri du Chat” means “cry of the cat” in French, named after the distinct high-pitched cry some infants may have.

Every child with Cri du Chat is unique, but some may experience:
💙 Developmental delays
💙 Speech and communication challenges
💙 Low muscle tone
💙 Differences in motor skills and learning

With support, therapy, and encouragement, children with Cri du Chat can continue building skills, confidence, and meaningful connections every day. 🌟

Awareness helps create understanding, inclusion, and support for individuals and families in the Cri du Chat community. 🌈
