Welcome, Dr. Drake Coomer!

We're excited to introduce the newest dentist at Shepherdsville Dental.

Dr. Drake Coomer was born and raised in Richmond, Kentucky. He studied Biology and Computer Information Systems at the University of Louisville as an undergraduate and continued his studies at their School of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Drake enjoys helping his patients reach their individual health goals, in which he sees dental health as an extension of one’s overall health, by providing care built on trust and honesty. He is especially passionate about helping patients that need treatment for TMJ/TMD issues or helping them with dental sleep therapies.

We can't wait for you to meet him at your next dental visit!

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Laura Benitez has joined our practice. Dr. Laura was born and raised in Somerset, Kentucky. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Centre College in 2020. She graduated from University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in May of 2024 with her Doctorate of Dental Medicine.

While in dental school, Dr. Benitez spent her free time volunteering at Mission Lexington Clinic, a clinic that provides free dental care for underserved populations. She also attended two service trips with the Remote Area Medical Clinic, to provide free dental care to residents of Hazard, KY.

When she is not practicing dentistry, Dr. Benitez enjoys spending time on her family’s farm, cooking, exercising, and going deer and turkey hunting with her husband, Arsenio. For the last four years, she has been an active member of Southland Christian Church, leading worship for 8th graders and pre-school kids. She and her husband are currently looking for a church home in Louisville.
