FAQ
Q: So what is a Holistic Health Practitioner? Like what is it exactly that you do?
A: This is a great question! Let's break it down a bit. Holistic means that I am looking at a person as a whole, integrated being in the area of their health. When evaluating someone's health needs, I'm not just looking at one piece like the heart, or hormones, or skin or whatever they're wanting help with. I am looking at all the other parts of the body as a whole that have an affect on that part. I'm taking into account not just someone's symptoms, but the part of the body that is off balance enough to be causing those symptoms. I take into account my client's physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing because all of these have an effect on our overall health. Once I put all the pieces together and see what is causing a client's symptoms, I make personalized recommendations for them. My recommendations are always something beneficial to the health of the client.
Q: So are you like a functional medicine doctor?
A: While what I do is similar to what a functional medicine doctor does in looking at my clients as a whole person, I am not in fact a medical doctor. I do not prescribe, treat, or diagnose disease. I make recommendations that will best benefit the body system that I feel is causing my client's issues of concern. Some recommendations may include things like incorporating more movement into the daily schedule, looking at eating habits, adding in supplements, making more time for sleep, drinking more water, eliminating toxins, journaling, emotional support, essential oils, tapping, etc. It just depends on what each person truly needs in order for their body to heal itself. My goal is always healing, never just covering up or stopping symptoms. With healing, symptoms will stop on their own.
