It's never too early to work on language skills! Babies are listeners and the way they develop their language is through interaction and exposure to vocabulary!

Wake windows offer great opportunities to work on language skills with your infant.

✨️Tummy Time is a great time to narrate what your child is looking at and tracking. The repetition of the vocabulary is great exposure to that word!

✨️Carry on a conversation with your little one. Take turns like you would with an older child or adult.

✨️ Sing a song to them and make it fun and engaging!

✨️ Self-talk and Parallel talk are great for daily routines! Bath time, playtime, meal time, etc. Self-talk you are narrating your own actions while parallel talk you are narrating your child's actions.

✨️READING! It's never too early to crack open a book with your little one!

Who says movies and language development can't work together? With Christmas break in full swing, now is a perfect time to pour a cup of hot cocoa and turn on a family movie! Movies can be a great way for kiddos to practice their story retell skills. We are always telling stories to those around us whether it be something that happened over the weekend, a movie we watched, a book we read, and so on! For others to understand what happened, we have to make sure we've included the important details. At the end of this post, you'll see 2 different levels of retell, the first one is a simple one for our younger kiddos and the second is for kiddos who are a little older. We encourage you to print them out and give them a try with your kiddos watching your favorite family movie!🎬
