When we talk about Stroke it is right to Overreact. BE FAST call 9-1-1.
 
While many risk factors (such as heredity) can’t be changed, knowing and recognizing the signs and symptoms of stroke can help right.
 
We at Sherman Oaks Hospital dedicated a Stroke Booth in creating awareness on Stroke. Part of our campaign is promoting the acronym B.E.F.A.S.T., a quick way to familiarize yourself with warning signs and hallmark symptoms of stroke.
 
(B) ‘Balance’ — Watch for sudden loss of balance.
(E) ‘Eyes’ — Check for vision loss.
(F) ‘Face Drooping’  —Look for an uneven smile.
(A) ‘Arm Weakness’ – Check for one arm weakness.
(S) ‘Speech Difficulty’ – Listen for slurred speech.
(T) ‘Time to Call 9-1-1’ – Call right away.

I Got My COVID-19 Vaccine.
 
Our first batch of COVID-19 Community Vaccine recipients, the community residents of Sherman Oaks and San Fernando Valley. We are glad that the members of our community did receive the 1st dose of their COVID-19 Vaccine.

We are pleased to announce that Sherman Oaks Hospital is opening its community COVID-19 vaccine clinic. Appointments are now available for Wednesday, May 12th. Please do schedule your appointment at MyTurn.ca.gov or call the hotline at 1-833-422-4255, and select Sherman Oaks Hospital as your designated vaccine clinic location. We can stop the pandemic and do our part to get vaccinated.
