Along with her frequent travels to Mainland China throughout her childhood, Dr. Dianova’s interest in traditional Chinese Medicine comes from growing up in the Far East of Russia and her exposure to Asian culture. At the age of 15, upon a visit to a Chinese hospital in the city of Beijing, a doctor took a simple tongue and pulse diagnosis and was able to offer a very accurate and intuitive prognosis of her condition. This led Dr. Dianova to embrace Chinese Medicine’s unique approach of looking at the patient as a whole and finding a treatment plan suitable to their particular needs. Dr. Dianova’s firm belief in Chinese Medicine encouraged her to go to China where she spent three (3) years studying Chinese Medicine at the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, while maintaining academic excellence. Her studies at Beijing University of Chinese Medicine led to her internships at some of the most prestigious and well-known hospitals in China such as Dongzhimen, Dongfang hospitals and Guoyitang clinic. In 2009, after completing her internships in Beijing, Dr. Dianova moved to Los Angeles, California, where she furthered her studies of Chinese Medicine at Dongguk Univerity in the heart of Koreatown. This gave her a unique opportunity to see the way Chinese Medicine is practiced in the United States and bring together the best of two worlds. A wonderful marriage of sorts between East and West. Today, Dr. Dianova emphasizes the importance of herbal medicine in her practice complimenting it with different techniques like acupuncture, cupping, tui na, and gua sha to help her patients not only recover and heal faster but most importantly improve their quality of life.
