The Villas Senior Care Community

The Villas Senior Care Community (formerly known as The Villas of Sherman Retirement Community) began as a retirement community concept in the late 1970s.

Today, The Villas Senior Care Community is comprised of a 99-bed, skilled nursing care facility with Villas Total Rehab, a short-term rehabilitation center, and a separate building offering Assisted Lifestyle or Shelter Care. There are also 54 independent living apartments and duplexes. Our commitment is to assist our residents in leading the highest quality of life possible, regardless of the level of care needed. With an array of services to serve the various levels of residents' healthcare needs, many residents and their families have placed their trust in us to care for the ones they love. We are proud of the community we have built in addition to the reputation of the high-quality care we have provided throughout the years. It was because of the vision and leadership of Father Peter Mascari (1920-2002) and a group of local community members that The Villas Senior Care Community came to be. He is highly regarded for his efforts in the Springfield area to ensure that the elderly of the surrounding communities had a place they could turn to offer different levels if they needed a continuum of quality healthcare services or independent living. The community was completed In 1991. The Villas Senior Care Community is located just north of Springfield, Illinois, and is a locally owned, non-profit community. Our board of directors continues to safeguard its commitment to protecting the best interests of all Villas residents. Our Long-Term Care Administrator Week celebration continues today as we recognize Russell Bogdanovich!

As the Administrator of Assisted Lifestyle & Memory Care at The Villas, Russ helps create a community that feels welcoming, connected, and full of life. His leadership, positivity, and willingness to jump in wherever needed make a meaningful impact on both residents and staff.

Some of our team members shared, “Russ is encouraging, kind, funny, and respected by both staff and residents. He’s always willing to go the extra mile and pitch in where needed.” Another added that he brings “a laid-back, welcoming atmosphere while always participating in activities with the residents.”

It is Long-Term Administrator Week! Today, we celebrate Tonya!

As the Administrator of Villas Skilled Nursing & Total Rehab, Tonya leads with strength, compassion, and a genuine commitment to both our residents and our team. Grace G., RN at Villas East, shared: “She is a strong leader who makes sure everyone and everything gets taken care of. She comes in with a smile and enthusiasm every day and truly cares about her staff and residents.”

Outside of work, Tonya is also a devoted wife and mom, bringing that same care and dedication into her family life.

We had a wonderful evening at The Villas as the Capital Area Concert Band joined us for a special performance! 🎶

Residents, families, and staff enjoyed an evening filled with beautiful music and great company. Moments like these are what make our community so special.

Trisha’s family recently experienced the tragic loss of their home due to a house fire. While we can’t replace what was lost, we can surround her and her family with support, encouragement, and care during this incredibly difficult time.

Working alongside a group of dedicated, compassionate, and driven managers makes all the difference. In the past couple of weeks at Villas Memory Care Assisted Lifestyle 💙

Our residents enjoyed a wonderful Valentine’s Day gathering filled with sweet treats, laughter, and time spent together. It was great seeing everyone sharing smiles and celebrating with family.

We’ve also been staying active with some fun group activities including a lively ball toss game that brought out some laughs! Staying engaged, moving, and connecting with one another is such an important part of life here at The Villas. ❤️

Through dedication, clinical expertise, and a strong commitment to quality, we have met the following award criteria:

✔️ Maintained a wound-related hospitalization rate of less than 1%
✔️ Held regular interdisciplinary team meetings focused on Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement (QAPI)
✔️ Designated a Vohra Wound Care Certified Nurse available 7 days a week to ensure consistent, expert care

This recognition reflects the hard work, collaboration, and compassion our team brings every single day. Our residents deserve the highest level of care, and we remain committed to delivering excellence in everything we do.
