EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT!!!! Meet Emilee Wood.

Emilee is a Family Service Counselor at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Park. Her background is in social work as a Licensed Masters Social Worker, and she’s spent the past five years supporting older adults and their families through some of life’s biggest transitions. Before joining the funeral home industry, Emilee worked in hospice as a Bereavement Coordinator, where she developed a deep understanding of grief, loss, and the importance of meaningful support.

Emilee is currently working toward my PhD in Human Services—a journey that’s helping her grow both professionally and personally. She is passionate about helping families find comfort, clarity, and peace of mind during times of loss. Whether it's planning ahead or offering support after a loved one has passed, Emilee is here to guide with compassion and care.

Outside of work, Emilee enjoys hanging with her standard poodle, Max, kayaking, and always looking for ways to connect with her community and learn more about how we can better serve families with dignity and respect.

Joshua is a family service counselor, joining our team at the beginning of 2024. Joshua comes to us with a background in Real Estate and Commercial Insurance. Previously helping families to get their first home and providing options for life insurance, he is deeply engrained in service and enjoys helping others. Some of his favorite hobbies include cooking, kayaking, music, and spending time with family. Joshua has one fur child – Nike, a husky German-Shepard mix that keeps him on his toes with mischief. From climbing mountains, to kayaking or relaxing by the lake – in his spare time you will most likely find Joshua outside in the sun somewhere.
