🏹🌲 Here ye! Here ye! 🌲🏹

For many merry years, we’ve joined the revelry at Sherwood’s annual Robin Hood Festival,and this year was no exception!

Our “Life is Bountiful” float brought the spirit of a forest to life in the parade, featuring residents and staff enjoying a feast fit for King Richard himself. Our trusty Friar Truck followed closely behind in celebration.

Afterward, back at the community, residents and their families gathered in our outdoor courtyard for a BBQ banquet.

Good food, great company, and plenty of cheer made for a legendary day in our own little Sherwood.

Hear ye, hear ye! 📜

The Robin Hood Festival is just around the corner, and we’re ready to celebrate in true Sherwood style. On Saturday, July 19th, the town's parade will begin at 10 AM and will pass right by our community. Residents and their guests are invited to enjoy the fun. Don’t miss our themed float, and then feast like royalty at our BBQ in our fireside courtyard from 12–2 PM.

A Tribute to Lifelong Friendship

Some friendships begin in the most unexpected places: a shared dinner table on a cruise, a spontaneous road trip, or even a community tour. For four residents at The Springs at Tanasbourne, what started as casual conversation turned into decades of adventure, laughter, and unwavering support.

From exploring every U.S. state and steering a canal boat in England to simply living two doors apart in retirement, their story is a beautiful reminder that true friendship only deepens with time.

Doing One Thing at The Springs Living means letting compassion guide every decision that shapes life in our communities. This year, nominations from residents and families poured in, each one spotlighting a teammate who makes quality shine. Rising to the top was a story poured straight from the heart.

Meet Michael Robbins, bartender at The Springs at Happy Valley and guardian angel behind the bar. Michael doesn't just remember favorite cocktails; he remembers favorite stories. When a resident began choking, he calmly delivered the Heimlich and saved their life. Weeks later he noticed another guest’s speech change mid-order, alerted the team, and had 911 on the way within moments.

Yet ask anyone and they’ll say Michael’s real superpower is the everyday stuff: the warm greeting that starts dinner service, the listening ear, the way he makes every person feel like the only person in the room.

Michael, thank you for living One Thing every day and reminding us that quality starts with heart. Raise a glass to our 2025 One Thing Award winner!

🌈 Celebrating Pride Month

This June, we proudly celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride Month to honor the history, resilience, and joy of the LGBTQ+ community. At The Springs Living, we believe that all residents and team members deserve to feel seen, respected, and welcomed for who they are.

Many LGBTQ+ older adults have witnessed remarkable changes over the decades, from times of silence and stigma to greater acceptance and visibility. Their courage and perseverance paved the way for the freedoms many enjoy today, and we are honored to serve them as they contribute to the enriching experiences in our communities.
