Nashoba Pediatric Therapies Caring for Kids and Families

Nashoba Pediatric Therapies provides pediatric occupational therapy services at our clinic in West Townsend, MA.

We are "in network" with most insurance plans in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. At Nashoba Pediatric Therapies, we are able to provide your child with highly individualized services. We place a high value on parental input and encourage parents, siblings and other important people to take part in all aspects of your child's OT programming when appropriate. Our programming begins with a phone or virtual intake meeting prior to your child's first visit. This allows parents to discuss concerns and ask questions at a time and place convenient for you. During your child's first visit, we will spend time getting to know each other in a playful and engaging manner. The occupational therapist will gain knowledge of your child's challenges while developing a friendly and meaningful rapport. After this initial visit, a comprehensive and individualized evaluation and treatment plan will be compiled and shared with parents. Follow-up visits will be planned to address parents concerns and findings discovered during the evaluation process. We accept most major insurance plans including:

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mass
Anthem BCBS (New Hampshire)
Harvard Pilgrim Health Plan
Aetna
MassHealth
NH Medicaid
WellSense
New Hampshire Healthy Families
Allways Healthplan

Additionally, we can accept the following in many circumstances (please inquire to confirm):
Cigna
Health Plans Inc
United
TriCare

To a child, it’s a zipline.
To us, it’s strength, balance, regulation, and confidence.

Big movement helps kids feel organized in their bodies — which means better focus, smoother transitions, and more independence.

Sometimes therapy looks like finger paint and slides 🌟

But behind the fun, we’re helping kids:
✨ Understand where their body is in space
✨ Feel calmer throughout their day
✨ Succeed at things that once felt hard

Play is the language children learn through… so it’s the language we teach through.

This may be good! I worry that "free" comes with a sales pitch. I do know that Greg Santucci is a wonderful resource and strong supporter of a neurodiverse affirming approach to care.

Well rounded play that allows children to explore how their bodies work, the attributes of objects within their environment, how to use those objects, how to interact with other people in their environment. That is enough, then our children would be ready for school and structured learning.

Yes, it’s true that Kindergarten has transformed into First Grade. Yes, children will need to learn academics, listen and sit still. But that certainly doesn’t mean that these lessons should be straight-jacketed onto them in the toddler and preschool years. In fact, the funneling down of structured learning is all the more reason to let children play while they can. We must fiercely protect this precious, ever shrinking window of time for our children.

Play is enough. Play is enough. Play is enough. This should be our educational mantra for the first 5 years.
