Jody is one of our incredible Ecumen Hospice volunteers, offering companionship to patients in the Twin Cities. She began volunteering to connect with others and hear their stories and her warmth and positivity shine through in every visit.

As Jody puts it, “𝑇ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑖𝑠 𝑎𝑙𝑤𝑎𝑦𝑠 𝑎 𝑏𝑟𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡 𝑠𝑖𝑑𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑓𝑖𝑛𝑑.” One of her favorite memories is sharing a laugh so contagious with a patient that staff down the hall came to see what was going on!

She says:

A big shoutout to Suzanne, our talented Massage Therapist with Ecumen Hospice, for delivering an insightful presentation today at the Senior Focus Networking Group, hosted by Birchwood Cottages- Owatonna!

Suzanne shared the powerful impact of massage therapy in hospice care, highlighting how compassionate touch can bring comfort, connection, and relief to patients and families during such an important time.

Today, our Ecumen Hospice team took a peaceful nature hike and tour of Better Place Forests, a unique and beautiful Cremation Memorial Park.

It was a meaningful experience to explore how nature, remembrance, and legacy come together in such a serene setting. We’re grateful for the opportunity to learn more about alternative memorial options that honor life in a natural, lasting way.
