Natalie came in with persistent shoulder pain after an injury, relying on medications, and feeling increasingly disconnected from her body.
This is something we see often.
When the nervous system is stuck in a stress response (sympathetic dominance), the body prioritizes survival over healing. Over time, this can influence:
β’ Pain perception and muscle tension
β’ Hormonal regulation (including menstrual cycles)
β’ Overall sense of body awareness and regulation
Her care was focused on supporting nervous system regulation, not just chasing symptoms.
Within the first few adjustments, she experienced significant reduction in shoulder pain.
Over time, her body began to shift:
β’ Discontinued medications
β’ Return of her menstrual cycle
β’ Improved sense of connection and regulation
This is the difference between symptom-based care and addressing the underlying neurological patterns driving those symptoms.
When the nervous system moves out of a chronic stress response, the body has the capacity to adapt, regulate, and heal more efficiently.
If youβre experiencing symptoms that donβt seem to fully resolve, it may be worth looking at how your nervous system is functioning, not just where the symptoms are showing up.
