This year I’m attending annual conference here in sunny PHX! Today was Day One of the conference for me. I attended a special interest group on research, went to a mixer for new ABA members-slash-first time attendees and went to the Opening Ceremonies. I even snuck in some pool time! Tomorrow will be busier— yowza! Stay tuned!

I have a question. What do you think it is that makes people vote against their best interests? I fear that we see it far too often these days when it comes to elections. Me? I find that it’s in my and my family’s best interests to vote for the pro-union candidates. That includes the candidates that will best support our teachers and our nurses. Coming from a healthcare background, I have seen firsthand how unions have advocated for our nurses! This includes increased resources in the hospitals; a healthy balance of patients to employees; and the right to use their PTO. Additionally, with two parents who are educators, I have seen how a strong union keeps the schools running! This means that the students don’t outnumber the teachers; there are age-appropriate resources in the classrooms; and to quote former President George Bush, no child is ever left behind. So this election cycle, if you’re on the fence about who to cast your vote for, choose the candidate who’s going to advocate for working families’ dignity and respect. With the price of produce so high these days, it feels like there isn’t anything I wouldn’t do to make that food last just a little bit longer. One last love letter to my recent trip to Arizona🌵
My friend Dani and I climbed the Wave Cave in the Superstition Mountains ⛰️ We had to get up EARLY to do it (5:00 am!) and even then it was HOTTTTT 🥵 Totally worth it though! 🏄🏼‍♀️
Next visit: Camelback Mountain! 🐪

This weekend I had the great pleasure of participating in the 2024 in Chicago! I went with my colleagues in the where we showed off our hard work on the Multi-functional Robotic Assistive Arm (otherwise known as mR2A). It was a hit! I'm so proud of all of the engineers that I get to have the pleasure of working with-- I'm so fortunate to be a part of this group. Flip through and see some of the other amazing work that's being done to truly create equity and equality within the disability community. As it is said, "Nothing about us without us!"
