‘Tis the Season of Giving! 🎁 🦃
We kicked off the holiday season with our annual Turkey Drive in partnership with benefitting the children and families of El Hogar Del Nino Early Childhood Center. This year, we were able to provide turkeys to over 200 families, and it warms our hearts to help support our community in such a meaningful way.

As always, it’s a joy partnering with to bring this event to life. Nothing feels better than giving back and spreading a little extra holiday cheer to those who need it most! ❤️

HCCI congratulates the Illinois long-term care providers recognized as 2025 Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award recipients by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL).

This award marks the first step in AHCA/NCAL’s rigorous three-level National Quality Award Program and honors providers that demonstrate a strong commitment to quality improvement, person-centered care, and organizational excellence.

A total of 653 providers across 46 states earned the Bronze Award this year, including 29 from Illinois, representing both skilled nursing and assisted living communities. We are especially proud to see so many HCCI member facilities included in this distinguished group:

Eight Alden representatives, including our President Randi Schlossberg-Schullo, attended the first-ever Women’s Luncheon hosted by the Democratic Party of Illinois.

Special guests included Illinois Lt. Governor Juliana Stratton and Wisconsin Lt. Governor Sara Rodriguez, who shared their inspiring journeys into public service and insights on women in leadership.

We were proud to strengthen connections with elected leaders, including Party Chair Lisa Hernandez, a long-time Alden Champion whose district includes two Alden communities.

Meaningful conversations around healthcare, leadership, and policy made this a powerful and productive event!

Congratulations Guadalupe on your HCCI Health Care Hero of the Month Award nomination!

HCCI's Hero of the Month recognizes long-term care professionals who possess leadership qualities and commitment to providing quality care to their residents. Lupe is our Unit Manager and has been in healthcare for seven years. She has a great rapport with families and goes above and beyond for her residents. She will always come to the building anytime to ensure they look their absolute best, from fresh manicures to clean shaves. Lupe treats all residents like her own family and can turn a stressful day into a peaceful and calm atmosphere for them. Lupe is a fantastic asset to Alden Courts of Shorewood.

Pass the watermelon please! It was a beautiful day out for our residents to enjoy a watermelon picnic outside. Everyone had a blast and warmed up in the summer sun!
