Top flattening surgery is one of the most common gender-affirming surgeries people choose 🙌

This surgery often increases self-esteem, self-acceptance, and mental health 🥲

A study done in 2015 found that when trans and nonbinary people went through one gender-affirming surgery, they had a:
- 42% reduction in psychological distress
- 44% reduction in suicidal ideation
- 35% reduction in smoking

As pelvic floor physical therapists, we work with transgender clients to improve outcomes for these types of surgeries.

So we encourage you to build a team of trusted healthcare providers who can support you through preparation and recovery 👩🏻‍⚕️

SHARE THIS with your partner & keep swiping ➡️

Because if you’re one of the 75% of women (and people with female anatomy) who have pain with s3x…

Then you’ll want to try these positions for better pleasure 🥵

Discovering your unique pleasure solo or with a partner will help reduce the pain you feel.

These positions will give you better control over angle, depth, and speed to find what feels good for you!

And communication is KEY!

So try talking about your preferences at a calm, non-intimate time so there’s less pressure 😉

If your pain with pleasure persists, then it might be time to start working with a pelvic floor specialist to find out why and treat the cause!

Keep swiping ➡️ because we need to raise awareness for better women's health care!

May is Women's Health Month, and this week is dedicated to raising awareness around the health challenges affecting women.

And some of these statistics can be challenging to sit with.

So we want you to remember:
- You are not broken
- You deserve quality care
- Your experience is valid
- Your pain deserves attention and should not be diminished
- It’s ok to take time for self-care
- It’s ok to seek professional care

You’re not alone. There are healthcare providers who have your best interests as a top priority.

So please be persistent in seeking follow up care.

Swipe. Share. Ask. Feel confident ⤵️

Because not all pelvic floor physical therapists/clinics are equal.

And we want to help you find the PFPT that will be able to properly treat your concerns ✨

You deserve the best care and a treatment plan that gets results.

So when we hear about the frustrating and disappointing care that you’ve received from other PFPT’s, it upsets us 👀

Now when you call a pelvic floor physical therapy clinic to set up your first visit…

ASK them these questions to confirm they will provide you with the treatment and time you need.

And no…telling you to do kegels at home is not a proper Home Exercise Program (yes, this has happened to our clients at other clinics) 🙅‍♀️

We understand it can feel hard to advocate for yourself, so practice asking these questions before your call.

Or write them down to bring to your first visit 🙌

You’ve got this!

We want you to know that moms do not need to live with these pelvic floor symptoms forever!

In reality, most pelvic floor dysfunction shows up after the standard 6-week postpartum follow-up appointment.

Which means that many birthing people are living with pain and discomfort with out standard care to support them 😢

So that’s where pelvic floor physical therapy comes in to help 🩷

As pelvic floor specialists, we can:
- See new moms as soon as a few days after giving birth
- Support healing and recovery after labor and birth
- Address conditions that appear after your 6-week checkup
- Reduce the likelihood for symptoms to continue or reappear with future pregnancies

In sharing these statistics, we want you to know you’re not alone if you’re living with one or many of these pelvic floor conditions!

And if you are experiencing any of these symptoms, then we want you to know it’s possible to find relief 😌

So if you’ve been wondering if you’ll ever feel normal again…

Or want answers but have struggled to get them from your current providers…

Then it’s time to get started with pelvic floor physical therapy so you can feel confident in your body again 🙌

Send us a DM with your questions or set up your first appointment with us on our website!
