Right after rhinoplasty, the nose goes through its most delicate healing stage.

Before the cast is placed, you’ll have protective dressings to support the new structure. The small bridge dressing helps control swelling and keeps the nasal bones stable. The padded support under the nose catches any light drainage and keeps the area clean while the internal tissues begin to settle.

This stage is all about rest, protection, and letting the swelling slowly go down. The nose will look puffy, uneven, and swollen — that’s completely normal.

Every hour brings it closer to the final result. This is the “fresh post-op” phase, where everything is still healing from the inside out, and the dressings help ensure the safest, smoothest recovery.
