Our Story
Dr. Bolona is an experienced psychiatrist, board certified in Psychiatry and Neurology as well as in Child and Adult Psychiatry. He was born and raised in Guayaquil, Ecuador where he earned his medical degree from the Universidad Catolica Santiago of Guayaquil, Ecuador and completed his residency at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center, followed by a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the same facility.
Dr. Bolona is an active member of the American Medical Association, American Psychiatric Association, and the American Academy of Child Psychiatry.
Dr. Bolona’s passion for psychiatry began at early age, 14 when a close friend had a personal experience with behavioral health issues. His passion and drive became stronger over the years and has lead him to become an integral part of his patient’s success in managing mental illness.
Dr. Bolona follows a multidisciplinary treatment approach in treating both adults and children and executes conservatively and with compassion. He takes time to evaluate his patients and works with the necessary counterparts (schools, doctors, family members, etc.) to prescribe the most appropriate treatment plan.
Dr. Bolona serves as a consulting psychiatrist for the Roselle Park Board of Education and has served as a consultant for the Union County Juvenile Detention Center.
He is a dedicated father of two adolescents. During his free time, he enjoys traveling with his family and exercising. Dr. Bolona is an avid runner and has participated in multiple half marathons which have aided many charities. He is currently training for a marathon in Berlin.
