November (what's left of it), is devoted to mutual aid. What is mutual aid?

Dean Spade says that mutual aid projects, "work together to meet survival needs and to build shared understanding of why people don't have what they need."

Mutual aid is not new. Working together to make sure everyone has what they need has been an essential community practice for survival, and oppressive systems of capitalism and colonialism have severed the innate ways that we have always supported one another.

In what ways have you cared for others? How have you helped to meet community needs and organized for change? How have you accepted aid from others?
