We’re proud to announce that Summit Healthcare’s Women and Infant Services Team has successfully achieved recertification for our Level 2 Nursery!

Earned through a comprehensive external review by the Arizona Perinatal Trust (APT), this recertification confirms our commitment to meeting high standards of safety and care for newborns in our community. The APT was highly complimentary of our services, noting the impressive quality of care delivered at a rural facility of our size.

Congratulations to Justin Wander, Ana Celiz-Gutierrez, Kaylie Peterson, and Amy Tafoya for leading the survey preparation and exemplifying Summit Healthcare’s commitment to excellence.

‼️Important Visitor Update‼️

To protect the health and safety of our patients, staff, and community during this season of respiratory illnesses, Summit Healthcare has updated our visitor policy, effective immediately:

- Children under 12 are not permitted to visit the Main Hospital, Emergency Department, or Outpatient Surgery Center.

- We strongly discourage bringing visitors under 12 to outpatient appointments unless they are the patient.

- Exceptions may be considered in special circumstances, such as end-of-life. Please contact your nurse or care team if needed.

These restrictions are not in place to deter those who do need medical attention from coming to our facility. Please do not delay care.

Our Interim CEO, Billy Gardner, and CFO, David Rothenberger, had the opportunity to meet with Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs and leaders at White Mountain Regional Medical Center to discuss the ongoing challenges facing healthcare across our state.

The conversation provided a great opportunity to share the unique circumstances and needs of rural healthcare providers and the vital role they play in supporting their communities.

Thank you to Wes Babers, CEO of White Mountain Regional Medical Center, and the entire WMRMC team for hosting this important discussion.

Rural Arizonans deserve access to quality healthcare, not devastating cuts that threaten hospitals and patients.

Last week at White Mountain Regional Medical Center, I met with local providers fighting to keep care accessible and working families healthy.
