Dealing with dry, itchy skin this winter season? ❄️☃️ Did you know that menopause can actually make your skin problems worse? Here are some easy tips to relieve discomfort.

1. WEAR YOUR SUNSCREEN.☀️🧴 UV radiation can impact your hormones. With a drop in estrogen, sun damage can cause thinning to your skin. Make sure to lather up in sunscreen to avoid damage.

2. AVOID HOT SHOWERS.🧖‍♀️🚿❌ Although hot showers can feel refreshing, they actually damage your skin. Long, hot showers strip the skin of its natural oils, sapping all of the moisture out of your skin. So stick to warm showers.

3. ALWAYS APPLY MOISTURIZER.🧴💦 It’s no surprise that applying ‘moisture’-izer will hydrate your skin. It hydrates the surface of your skin, trapping moisture and vitamins.

4. CONSIDER BIOTE HORMONE PELLET THERAPY.💊 This hormone treatment gives your body consistent access to the hormones your body lacks all in an easy to take pill.

5. STAY HYDRATED.💧 Drinking water moisturizes your skin from the inside out. Make sure you drink half your body weight in ounces to ensure you are properly hydrated.

The menopausal transition typically begins between ages 45 and 55. It usually lasts about seven years but can be as long as 14 years‼️The duration can depend on lifestyle factors such as smoking🚬, age it begins, and race and ethnicity. Full menopause can be a long process, commonly lasting around 4 years, although 1 in 10 women will be in the perimenopause for over 10 years.
It helps to understand which stage you are in.

Many women have been helped to regain a better quality of life and the message is that it's never too late to seek help – whatever you are experiencing!
BioTe's Hormone replacement therapy can be helpful not only in reducing symptoms during the perimenopause, but also provide some protection against post-menopause concerns such as brittle bones and weaker pelvic floor muscles.🌸

Have you noticed what you've been doing before does’t work any more? You eat clean, exercise but the number on the scale isn't budging. Weight gain coupled with annoying hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, cravings, depression, anxiety is a bummer. This is normal in menopause. But WHY do we gain weight when we hit menopause?

It's about your menstruation (or lack of). This is reason #1

Studies show that up to 75% of menopausal women involuntarily gain weight. It’s all about hormonal imbalances.

Before menopause, during the first 10-14 days of the menstrual cycle, the body uses about 300 calories for ovulation. When you're in menopause, your body doesn’t use those 300 calories and contributes to your weight gain.

300 x 7 = 2100 x 2 (weeks) = 4200 cals or 1.5 pounds of fat a month or around 20 pounds of fat gain in a year.

There are couple of approaches that can help:

1) Decrease your daily food intake by 150 calories & increase your fitness by 150 calories.

2)Reduce food by 300 calories or increase your workouts by 300 calories.

What approach is most manageable?

Today is WORLD NUTRACEUTICAL DAY!

Nature produces a diversity of foods in the form of plants, microbes, and animals. Once we start understanding the health and nutrition needs of our bodies and searching sources from nature that provide the same, it leads us to make health sense in foods and ultimately what we can call "Functional Foods"!

A nutraceutical, is a component present in food sources that can be isolated and made available in medicinal/pharmaceutical nutritional forms with demonstrable physiological benefit/ providing preventive/curative protection against disease conditions. It includes ingredients like Curcumin, Glutathione, Astaxanthin, Tocotrienol, Fenugreek, Olive oil, Omega-3 fatty acids, etc.

Biote Nutraceuticals feature superior supplements that help maintain normal hormone balance. Each Biote supplement contains well-researched ingredients that help support your health & wellness and overall wellbeing.
