Jennie Bange, MOT, LOTR- I graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Family and Child Studies and a minor in psychology. After deciding to continue my education, I graduated with a Master of Occupational Therapy in 2007 from LSUHSC–Shreveport. For the past ten years, I have had the privilege of practicing as a pediatric occupational therapist in various settings and with a wide range of diagnoses. I have also been an instructor for the Department of Occupational Therapy at the LSUHSC School of Allied Heath and for the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Program at Bossier Parish Community College. I have always supported services in the natural environment since I understand the importance of integrating the family into each child’s session. I firmly believe that the therapist is not the person making the difference in the child’s life. It is the child’s family that makes the difference. Nine years ago, God blessed me with a sweet baby girl. Over the course of a few months, she was diagnosed with a rare connective tissue disorder. I feel she has strengthened my abilities as an occupational therapist. I sincerely understand the emotions a family goes through when their child is diagnosed with a disability or is experiencing a developmental delay. I understand how frightening this can be, and I understand the joy that can come from it all. Anne Wallace, LCOTA - My experience of working with children is quite extensive. In 1990, I graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science in Education concentrating in special education. Soon after graduation, I began my career as a special education teacher working with children with diverse diagnoses in both private and public schools. I pursued a degree as an occupational therapy assistant in 2013 graduating from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Since that time, I have been working in pediatrics. I believe each child is a unique creation and gift from God. I enjoy problem solving and individualizing therapy to help unlock the God-given potential of each child I serve. Good therapy helps children meet their goals, but great therapy involves attaining goals through creative activities during play. I am a mother of four children with one married daughter, one daughter in college, a son in high school, and my youngest daughter in elementary school. Through my years of experience of working as a special education teacher, a COTA, and homeschooling two of my children, I have learned that children respond to encouragement, loving instruction, and nurturing. This is how I approach each therapy session. I believe parental involvement throughout therapy sessions and daily routines is the key to helping your child achieve their highest potential. I look forward to equipping you with individualized, engaging, and practical techniques to empower you to assist your child in reaching their goals.
Christopher Tyler Rash, MOT, LOTR - I am originally from Shreveport, Louisiana, and am proud to be providing occupational therapy services in my hometown. I graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. After graduation, I returned to Shreveport and worked at a pediatric clinic that provided occupational, speech, and behavioral therapy to children with various diagnoses. This is where I found my passion for working with children. I continued with my plan to become an occupational therapist accompanied with the new skills gained as a behavioral therapist. I graduated with a Master of Occupational Therapy in 2018 from LSUHSC - Shreveport.
I am excited for the opportunity to provide occupational therapy services, support, and resources to not only meet the needs of your child, but your entire family. Together we will address all of your concerns. I look forward to meeting your family.
