May is Mental Health Awareness Month đź’š

Mental health is just as important as physical health and it deserves the same care, attention, and conversation.

At the Louisiana Counseling Association, we are committed to raising awareness, reducing stigma, and advocating for accessible, quality mental health care across our communities.

This month is a reminder to:
✨ Check in with yourself
✨ Reach out to someone you trust
✨ Prioritize rest and well-being
✨ Seek support when you need it

Counselors across Louisiana are working every day to support individuals, families, and communities meeting people where they are and walking alongside them on their journey toward healing and growth.

Let’s continue to create spaces where mental health is talked about openly, supported fully, and valued always.

đź’š You are not alone. Support is here.

Treating Sexual Trauma Cases Involving Grief

Treating sexual trauma gets more complex when grief is part of the clinical picture. If you only focus on the trauma, you may miss losses driving shame, distress, and how survivors make sense of what happened. This training from Telehealth Certification Institute helps you build clearer case conceptualization and apply practical interventions that support deeper, more effective care.
